The Roxy® Story
Bill and Erica Lynch never imagined they would spend over 20 years reviving heritage apple orchards and perfecting the flavour of the world’s best apple.
But finding themselves living on an old heritage apple orchard, they researched how they could work with the valuable genetic material of their trees to bring back the lost flavour of yesteryear’s apples.
Breeding & Selection
They had the space and scale to use traditional plant breeding and selection techniques, selecting only the best of the best to carry through to the next round of breeding. From the first 1,000 trees only five had the taste, colour, texture, vigour and health to make it to the next round.
The Birth of Roxy®
Blending their Heritage Gala with Cox’s Orange and Gravenstein has successfully delivered “Roxy”, a pure, full-flavoured apple with an infatuating pink hue and a 3-hour aftertaste. This is not just another nice apple. It’s the result of Bill’s passion and effort to bring back the lost flavour of real apples.
